Alexandra are nevoie de ajutor

(The following article is taken from Alexandra Vasilescu’s blog via Mircea Badea’s blog. This is the English translation of Alexandra’s pledge for life.)

Alexandra Mihaela Vasilescu, a 6 and a half years old little angel has started first year in school September last year. Instead to learn to write, read and count Alexandra is learning to bear the pain. After a routine check the diagnostic came quick and brutal: leukaemia! The little girl is now at Fundeni Research Institute Hospital (Bucharest, Romania) under the supervision of Dr. Anca Nicolita and going through the pain of cytostatic treatment.

Alexandra’s life is dependent of a transplant. To survive, the little girl needs all our help to raise money for the operation and the cost of this medical intervention is high: 130,000 euros (~ £130,000). The life is priceless; however, for Alexandra Vasilescu there is a price to continue to go to school, to grow up…

The race for life has already started but she needs money to start to look for a compatible donor into the Register for International Donors.

Alexandra Mihaela Vasilescu, un îngeraş de 6 ani şi jumătate, a păşit pragul şcolii pentru prima oară în septembrie. Acum, în loc sa înveţe să scrie şi să socotească, Alexandra învaţă să suporte durerea. În urma unui control de rutină, diagnosticul a venit repede şi dur: leucemie mielomonocitară cronică juvenilă în fază de transformare în leucemie acută mielomonocitară M4 FAB. Fetiţa se află în prezent la Institutul Fundeni, sub tratament citostatic, în grija dr. Anca Coliţă. Viaţa Alexandrei depinde acum de transplant, dar pentru a avea şanse să trăiască are nevoie de ajutorul nostru, costul transplantului fiind estimat la 130.000 de euro. Viaţa este nepreţuită, şi totuşi are un preţ ca Alexandra să meargă din nou la şcoală, să crească mare… A început deja o luptă cu timpul, iar căutarea unui donator compatibil în Registrul internaţional al donatorilor costă.

Orice sumă cât de mică îi măreşte şansele Alexandrei să trăiască. Banii pot fi donaţi în conturile deschise pe numele mamei, Elena Livădaru.
